Monday, November 6 Today, the coolest turkey in town visited our classroom! :) We played with new Amazon Rainforest language and math shelf works. We talked about what we wanted to learn about the rainforest. Tuesday, November 7 We started cutting out leaves to build our rainforest in the classroom. Their cutting skills have really improved, and they are always so proud of what they accomplish! We also started learning about Poison Dart Tree Frogs and other animals of the Amazon Rainforest. In P.E., we practiced our underhand throwing. Wednesday, November 8 We began coloring our Poison Dart Tree Frogs for our rainforest mural. It was Mrs. Sherry's birthday so we surprised her with cards, a gift, and singing her a happy birthday song! We went on a hike with Mr.B to the Enchanted Forest, and it's hard to imagine just how deep the leaves were. Thursday, November 9 We read the book, Balloons Over Broadway, and we designed and planned how we are going to make our balloon float with our Second Grade STEAM Buddies! Mrs. Maggie took the class on a walk to look for things in nature that they are thankful for. Friday, November 10 Veterans' Day Chapel Service We joined the entire school in celebrating and thanking all Veterans for their service. We began coloring the skin for our life size Green Anaconda- yes, 30 feet long! :) We enjoyed a very chill day playing and being silly with each other. |
